One-time setup
Connect your tenancy (read-only)
- Review the policy below. It grants read access only; nothing can be created, changed or deleted.
- Download the setup script and run it in OCI Cloud Shell as a tenancy administrator (Console → Developer tools → Cloud Shell → upload →
bash oci-assessment-setup.sh). It shows what it will create and asks for confirmation. Nothing is installed on your VMs. - Paste the connection code it prints (starts with
OCIA1.). Collection starts as soon as the code is accepted; you can pause it at any time. Several tenancies? Run the same script in each one and paste each code here.
Your controls
You can also stop access at any time in OCI, without this page: delete the API key of user oci-assessment-collector, or remove the OCI-Assessment-ReadOnly policy. Every call the assessment makes appears in OCI Audit under that user.
What we read
What we never do
- Log in to your VMs or run commands on them
- Install agents or software
- Create, change or delete anything in your tenancy
- Read files, databases, application data, secrets, SSH keys or startup scripts
- Send your data to any cloud service: it stays on the assessment team's computer

What we have collected
Memory
OCI has memory data only when the Oracle Cloud Agent on the VM reports it. CPU, disk and network never need the agent. Below, VMs without memory data are grouped by the network fix that applies: usually one route per route table fixes many VMs at once. Download the step-by-step guide for your administrator.
